Connie Kemmerer, PhD, LMT
Connie Kemmerer PHD, LMT, moved to Jackson Hole fifteen years ago from Sun Valley, ID in order to participate as an owner of the Jackson Hole Mountain Resort.
Five years ago, along with a group of doctors and practitioners, Connie founded the Integrative Healthcare Foundation, now known as The Teton Wellness Institute. As a visionary thinker, she was the driving force behind the Teton Wellness Festival.
Connie’s interest in health and spirituality go back to her teenage years when she worked with missionaries in Africa. She later earned her PhD in anthropology, became a childbirth educator, massage therapist, started a church (Light on Mountains Spiritual Center, Sun Valley, ID) and worked with Discovery, a personal growth program operating in Idaho and New Zealand.
Connie’s greatest dream is to make a difference and a contribution to the world.
“To change the world, I must change myself. Global peace, health and sustainability begin within.”
Margot Snowdon, MS, RYT, holds a Master of Science degree in Education, and is a certified Anusara Teacher and Teacher Trainee.
She has taught yoga in Jackson Hole for over twenty years, starting as an Iyengar certified instructor before moving into the Anusara method developed by John Friend. She opened the first Yoga studio in Jackson, The Yoga Room, in 1986 and directed it for 20 years.
Her interest and education in yoga began a study of wellness in many diverse forms: yoga therapy, ayurveda, nutrition, sports, green building practices and bau-biologie. Currently, she maintains a private practice of yoga therapy.
“The Wellness Institute’s mission of promoting paths to physical and spiritual wellness, as well as sensitivity to the planet, reflect my personal values and I hope to broaden the community’s understanding of and access to these fields.”
Becky Kimmel enjoyed a 22 year career in hospital administration and believes passionately in prevention and wellness as a way to reduce medical costs and help people live healthier lives.
She led efforts in the 1980’s to establish the Teton County Health Fair and represented St. John’s Medical Center in a variety of health-related community partnerships. Her B.S. degree in Communication and her interest in Spanish also support her interest in outreach to the Latino community.
Currently, she is working for the Presbyterian Church of Jackson Hole as their new Director of Administration and Finance.
Her interests include spiritual growth and whole body health through exercise and nutrition. She lives a balanced life on the Westbank with husband Ted and Labradorables Rufus and Chunk, with time out to travel and especially to visit the Yucatan of Mexico.
“I am a HUGE fan of the Teton Wellness Festival and I look forward to helping develop the new Wellness Resource Center at St. John’s Medical Center. I hope everyone in our community chooses to participate in both.”
